The third in a series of paranormal murder mysteries by this bestselling author is read by the Earphones-winning narrator Alyssa Bresnahan. A small town is visited by a serial killer who attacks blondes. An FBI blonde comes to investigate, one who has psychic powers and who herself has been brutalized by the same perpetrator. Another Bureau operative who sees dead people comes along, too. Their investigation is complicated by personal matters, such as a love affair with a local, who may also have "the gift." Bresnahan does a measured, workmanlike job in a crisp, well-articulated soprano.
