Narrator Ann Marie Gideon's velvety voice brings out the warmth of this cozy Christmas romance. When widow Catherine Pine, abandoned by her family for the holidays, joins her girlfriend on a cruise to Germany, she is not expecting to find romance among the other passengers. Gideon brings out the gentle voices of Catherine and her suitor, and contrasts them with the more energetic voices of the younger passengers, including chocolatier Trevor March and his love interest, the hypochondriac Sophie. Gideon's use of German accents helps conjure the charm of the country's Christmas markets.
