Third Grave Dead Ahead is the third installment of Darynda Jones' award-winning paranormal series that's "hilarious and heartfelt, sexy and surprising." (J.R. Ward)
Paranormal private eye. Grim reaper extraordinaire. Whatever. Charley Davidson is back! And she's drinking copious amounts of caffeine to stay awake because, every time she closes her eyes, she sees him: Reyes Farrow, the part-human, part-supermodel son of Satan. Yes, she did imprison him for all eternity, but come on. How is she supposed to solve a missing persons case, deal with an ego-driven doctor, calm her curmudgeonly dad, and take on a motorcycle gang hell-bent on murder when the devil's son just won't give up?

In Jones’s high-energy third paranormal romantic thriller featuring smart, wickedly hilarious grim reaper and PI Charley Davidson (after 2011’s Second Grave on the Left), hunky son of Satan Reyes Farrow distracts Charley from her search for the missing wife of an egotistical doctor, who’s strangely unmoved by his wife’s disappearance. Every time Charley closes her eyes, she summons an intense, sexually ravenous Reyes, who angrily insists that she find his stepfather, whom he was falsely accused of killing. Meanwhile, a woman who eavesdrops on angels worries Charley about the upcoming death of someone destined to become her guardian, a motorcycle gang pleads for help finding a dog killer, and Charley’s family does everything they can to persuade her to go into less dangerous work. Jones pulls all the craziness together in the end while leaving plenty of open threads to pull the reader into the next installment. Agent: Janklow & Nesbit.

An Albuquerque private eye's professional success just might hinge on her status as grim reaper. For years now, Charley Davidson has been helping her father, a retired cop, and her uncle, still on the Albuquerque force. As a teen, she saved Reyes Farrow from being beaten to death by the stepfather he's now accused of killing. She's afraid to sleep because Reyes, the devastatingly handsome son of Satan, haunts her with erotic dreams. Approached by a doctor whose wife is missing, Charley senses that he has something to do with the disappearance. Assuring him that she'll take the case, she investigates his past, which includes another wife found dead. Meanwhile, a biker gang wants her to discover who's killing their guard dogs. When Reyes escapes from prison, carjacks Charley and tells her his stepfather is still alive, she senses yet another case to work on. As a portal for people to pass from life to death, Charley gets a lot of help from those who have not yet decided to pass over. Stressed to the max by her father, who wants her to quit investigating; Reyes, who tells her she still hasn't uncovered all of her powers; and clients who may be planning to kill her, Charley just won't give up. Charley's third paranormal case (Second Grave on the Left, 2011, etc.) features updates on the complicated relationships developed in the first two offerings. This time the mystery is stronger but still overshadowed by the ramifications of Charley's day job.

Charley Davidson, a private eye of the paranormal persuasion--she doubles as a Grim Reaper--is straining to solve a missing-persons case and keep a motorcycle gang in line. She's also trying to forget Reyes Farrow, the devilishly handsome son of Satan whom she's imprisoned for eternity. As the title signals, this is the third in a series that started out with a bang--the first book won a Golden Heart Award for Best Paranormal Romance manuscript--so snatch this up.
