The third book in Fox's "Midnight Pass, Texas" series (after Special Ops Cowboy) revisits the four siblings who own Reynolds Station ranch. It is a second-chance romance for Ace, the eldest Reynolds brother, and Veronica Torres, his high-school girlfriend. Veronica, a veterinarian, is returning to her hometown after a disastrous marriage, and it appears she may have inadvertently brought some danger with her. He let her down once. Can she trust Ace to keep her body--and her heart--safe now? VERDICT Readers who have been following the story of the Reynolds siblings won't want to miss this one. For those unfamiliar with the series, this is standard romantic suspense series fare: heroine in danger turning to an old flame for assistance. It is both readable and comforting in its relative predictability.
