This is the 12th and final book in the multi-author "Colton 911: Chicago" series (after Colton 911: Secret Alibi by Beth Cornelison). Detective Harry Cartwright is determined to solve the murder of Axel Colton once and for all, and the scion's secret--and illegitimate--daughter Sara Sandoval is currently his top suspect. Falling for her was never part of his plan, and when her life is threatened as well, Harry's past heartache seems destined to repeat itself. Can he solve the murder, and save the girl in the end? Or will he be too late--again? VERDICT Devoted readers of the series will consider this a must-read, as all of the loose threads of the prior books are finally wrapped up here.
