      In this ode to "self-care," celebrity physical therapist and Instagram influencer Pham and former Bodybuilding.com editor-in-chief O'Connell enthusiastically argue that good posture and simple daily exercises can help people take control of their health. No fancy equipment required. This practical guide uses some jargon, like "futureproofing" your body, that is, taking steps to prevent injuries to "the most valuable possession you own." But it primarily offers practical, common-sense advice, including sitting at a desk with elbows at 90-degree angles and with feet flat on the floor. Pham and O'Connell define what's at stake. People with chronic pain are at least twice as likely to report suicidal behaviors or to die by suicide. They may wind up on prescription pain medicines because it's easier to get them than good therapy.The authors include helpful photos of a diverse group of men and women to illustrate proper and improper ways to do exercises. At times this can seem like promotion for Pham's Myodetox clinics, but overall, it's full of good and clear tips and wisdom.
