The multi-author "Coltons of New York" series continues with Cornelison's latest (following Colton's Body of Proof by Karen Whiddon). When rookie cop Eva Colton's partner comes down with mono, she is chagrined to discover that her captain has paired her with her work crush, Carmine DiRico. When the two are given an undercover assignment to pose as a married couple on a therapy weekend cruise, Eva is the only witness to a possible murder on their first night there. Can Carmine keep her safe from danger and resist the temptation of the fiery redhead while he's at it? VERDICT With a nonsensical reason for their undercover assignment and plot twists that are obvious from the beginning, reading the latest installment in this series is far more frustrating than it is entertaining.--Rebecca Moe
