Thora Graham is a former FBI analyst and should be used to handling with stress under pressure. Being buried alive, however, is not something she thought she would ever have to deal with. When Will Dresden, deputy chief of police, gets a call from a past neighbor, he never imagined it would be about a missing person, let alone his onetime lover, Thora. With time of the essence, Will is determined to keep Thora alive while managing his deepening feelings for her. One mystery leads to another, and eventually the two main characters also find themselves in a heated romance. VERDICT While some readers may find this too much of a slow-burn, Stevens (Looks That Kill) does eventually get to the happily-ever-after ending that readers will be hoping for Will and Thora to find.--Shondra Brown
