CAN THE ROLE OF A LIFETIME...
Lacey Clark's dreams of Hollywood stardom didn't turn out quite the way she planned. Instead, her life is more of the daytime-drama variety: One of her actor ex-boyfriends fathered a child with another woman, and now, long story short, Lacey is the adopted single mother of his son. She takes little Henry with her to South Carolina to escape the film business but winds up working at a small movie studio, determined to do a good job both on set and at "home." Only problem is she ends up sharing a house with movie star Beau Wilder, who is no role model for Henry-and only spells trouble for Lacey...
LEAD TO A HAPPY ENDING?
Beau is arguably the most gorgeous man on the planet-and a known ladies' man. His wealthy Lowcountry pedigree is rivaled only by his bad-boy charm, a combination that proves irresistible for Lacey. And he adores Henry! If they weren't both on a movie set, their lives would seem too good to be true...unless the chemistry-not to mention the burning attraction-between them is real, and Hollywood's golden boy is actually falling for this sassy single mom? When it comes to love, sometimes you just have to throw out the script...

When her boss runs away with her boyfriend, single mom Lacey Clark finds herself broke and jobless in idyllic Indigo Beach, South Carolina, while sharing a lighthouse with a handsome movie star, and she's dangerously falling in love with it all.Lacey had a taste of Hollywood, and for her it was kind of bitter. Reinventing herself as a personal assistant has been better for her as a single mom, but when her actress boss flees her movie set to run away with Lacey's actor boyfriend, Callum, her life takes another unexpected turn. She's grateful when Callum's agent takes pity on her and lets her stay on in the lighthouse his client rented for the summer. Unfortunately, Callum has sublet the place to Beau Wilder, his replacement in the movie and one of the most famous-and handsome-actors on Earth. At first Beau is ready to toss Lacey out on her ear, but he doesn't have the heart when he realizes she has Henry, her 5-year-old son, with her. A mutual attraction blazes into a relationship, but Lacey and Beau each have baggage, a few secrets and a long-lost connection to Indigo Beach. Denying that they're having an affair, Lacey and Beau explain her presence by claiming a long-standing family friendship, which becomes an increasingly complicated cover once Lacey starts working as babysitter for the movie's director and their personal and professional lines begin to blur. When their secrets begin to surface and their cover unravels, Beau and Lacey are at a crossroads. Beau can't stay on Indigo forever, and Lacey and Henry never want to leave. Beau's next picture is waiting, and Lacey needs to figure out who she is before she hands her heart over to another actor. Doesn't she? Kramer's (Sweet Talk Me, 2014, etc.) second foray into contemporary romance is filled with smart, believable characters and fresh, witty storytelling. A sexy, poignant romance wrapped in Southern charm and lightly accented with Hollywood glamour.COPYRIGHT(2014) Kirkus Reviews, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

Not wanting to raise her adopted biracial son, Henry, in the cruel, superficial film industry environment, Lacey Clark takes Henry and heads back to the East Coast and a six-week stay at an ex-boyfriend's lighthouse on Indigo Beach, SC, while she figures out her next move. How did she end up sharing the lighthouse with sexy megastar Beau Wilder, who is there on location, or working for the same small studio, babysitting for the film director's twins? Neither Beau nor Lacey is looking for romance, but with their forced togetherness, fighting their growing attraction won't be easy. VERDICT Sassy, funny, and redolent with Low-country charm, this fast-paced, sexy-sweet romp beautifully juxtaposes Hollywood glitz with down-home reality and is as tempting as a porch swing and a frosty glass of ice tea on a warm summer's day. Kramer (Sweet Talk Me) lives in South Carolina.

She was here first! Lacey Clark and her young son, Henry, are already unpacked and living in the lighthouse at Indigo Beach when box-office superstar Beau Wilder comes knocking. Beau claims that Lacey's ex-boyfriend promised him the lighthouse, since Beau needs a place to stay while he is filming a small, independent movie. As a single, out-of-work mom, Lacey isn't about to give up the lighthouse, but she is willing to allow Beau to share their living quarters as long as he follows her house edicts. But as the bad boy of Hollywood, Beau isn't exactly known for his ability to take direction or follow rules. Kramer (Sweet Talk Me, 2014) dishes up another delightful contemporary romance that is deftly seasoned with sassy Southern wit, snappy dialogue, and plenty of smoldering sexual chemistry. Readers who fell in love with Susan Elizabeth Phillips' Dream a Little Dream (1998) or Ain't She Sweet ? (2004) will definitely want to add Kramer's latest sexy, sparkling, spot-on love story to their reading lists.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2014, American Library Association.)
