Starred review from December 1, 2012
Fitness through weight training is a well-known concept, but a lot of myths surround it. Lauren and Clark (coauthors, You Are Your Own Gym: The Bible of Bodyweight Exercises) advise women to skip the fancy machines, baby weights, and stationary bikes and instead utilize their own body weight by adopting the authors' system of exercises. Copiously illustrated, this book has workouts for everyone from new mothers to Special Forces operatives. They include eating advice, though this is not a diet book per se. Recommended for serious exercisers. VERDICT This will be of little use to those with arthritis, but excellent for others.
